Happy World Cerebral Palsy Day!

  • Cerebral Palsy by definition is a group of disorders that affect a person’s ability to move and maintain balance and posture. CP is the most common motor disability in childhood. Cerebral means having to do with the brain. Palsy means weakness or problems with using the muscles.

This definition doesn’t even begin to describe what it means for one of my children or my gratitude for the depth in perspective it’s brought to my life. 🌱

For Ava, CP means that she works hard, harder than anyone I know. She does it with grace and humor, with a shoulder pop and a smile. It means greeting others with kindness and forgiveness even for those who immediately misunderstand her. I’m forever inspired by her courage and strength. 👊

One of my jobs as Ava’s mom is to spread awareness and understanding so that others can have the opportunity to see our definition of Cerebral Palsy. 💚

Devonee Thaxton, of team LittleWins, interviewed me for our LittleWiins podcast. If you would like to hear more about me and our family journey, here is the link to the full interview:

Happy #worldcpday to everyone around the world! This day is near and dear to our community we are so grateful to be here to celebrate with you!
